Gumboot Friday!

Gumboot Friday
Aloha Bloggers, Last Friday it was gumboot Friday. You might think Gumboot Friday is where you wear gumboots but actually gumboot Friday is supporting mental health. Some teachers and students also brought gumboots along with them to school. This idea was also related to our topic this year Hauora - Wellbeing.

We made these amazing positive quotes that we put into letter boxes on the 9th of April. We wrote our quotes into our writing book then we got it checked with a teacher. Then we got a piece of paper from our other teacher.

We copied what we wrote in our book to the piece of paper you got. At the back you had to write ‘Supporting mental health” so they knew what we were doing. We made 2 positive cards on Friday then on Tuesday we made another positive card. On Wednesday we got a very amazing email from a Mother and i’m guessing that she got one of the cards that we made so that was so amazing. She said that she has a child who is going through mental health and she said that letter he read got him uplifted and when I heard that I felt so amazing.

It was also a students idea and her name is, Neeve. We filled in these books that boards of trustees gave us. There were some students who got to fill the book that we got given. I was very privileged to fill one of these books in! if you would like to check out Neeves blog here is her blog link https://wpsneeveg.blogspot.com/

There were 8 groups that we got split into. We went to different streets If you get one of these cards keep it and pass it on please. Here’s my card!

Soccer Zones

Soccer Zones!
Aloha bloggers and welcome back to an entertaining blog! Today as you can tell by the title I am blogging about soccer zones. There were 10 girls and 10 boys who went to zones so altogether there were 20 kids who went. I was one of the players in the girl team. Guess where we played.... Eden Park!!! When we arrived to eden Park i felt really nervous and excited. We didn't play in the actual stadium we played on the field next to it which is the cricket field. We played 7 games and the girls team won every game except for one game because we tied with the other team but the boys team won every single game they played. These were all the schools that were there, Halsey Drive, Mt Roskill, May Road, Hay Park, Marshall Lang, Three Kings and St Teresa that's all I remember. There was also this trophy that was the Women's National Trophy. At the end we got wrest bands that says #Getin to girls and Women's Football, and the colour is pink. After that we got all of Waikowhai soccer balls and went back to school.
